Junior Interior Designer
JOB DESCRIPTION
CC Zippert Design is a boutique residential and commercial interior design studio based in the South Bay of Los Angeles, with projects throughout Southern California and beyond. We are currently seeking a Junior Interior Designer with an emphasis on architectural design, development and documentation. We are looking for a team member that will bring a passion for design, strong work ethic, eye for detail and a love for execution. Applicant should be a natural organizer and have deep interest in architectural/design history.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, fun and fast paced team working across a variety of projects, partnering closely with the Design Principal to develop and detail interior drawings, space plans, cabinetry and millwork, furniture and architectural detailing throughout residential and boutique commercial spaces. A strong understanding of AutoCAD and photoshop is a must. Core responsibilities will also include building materials schedules, drawing detailing, working with vendors on orders, logistics and tracking as well as overall project management across workrooms, job sites, showrooms and trade relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to execute the overall design process for projects under direction of the Design Principal
Create technical drawings in AutoCAD, including preparing and modifying interior design documents, detailed elevations, lighting plans, cabinetry, and furniture details, and accompanying finish schedules and furniture selections.
Compiling detailed and accurate construction packages across interior drawing sets, specification binders and detailed master schedules
A commitment to quality and attention to detail – understanding great design execution relies on a high volume of logistical and administrative tasks
Research and source finish materials, fixtures and furnishings
Manage vendor, contractor, and client relationships to CC Zippert Design standards
Prepare for and attend project site visits, trade and workroom meetings, and showrooms
Commitment to accurately managing the pricing proposal, purchase order and invoicing cycle within our project management software
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in interior design
Minimum 1-3 years of design firm experience
Proficiency in AutoCad, Microsoft Office Suite and Photoshop; Experience with Studio Designer or similar design management software a plus
Must be highly detail oriented, or better put, detail obsessed – a born organizer and lover of logistics
Both educational and work experience in construction detailing, and sourcing materials for high end residential environments
Fast learner that takes pride in quality of their work, with great follow-through and willingness to think beyond their comfort zone
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as a team player with a can-do attitude
A passion and love for residential architecture and interior design
DETAILS
Position is 35-40 hours per week
Hourly, based on experience
Twice annual performance bonus
This position is based in Redondo Beach, CA. Must be able to work from the office 3-5x a week.
